Background:

Merissa Quick led her 2014-15 Emporia State team to the NCAA2 Final Four and a final ranking of #4 in the country.  She did this with her solid post play, averaging 12 points and 7 rebounds while playing in 21 minutes/game during the regular season (shared equal time with quality post player) and 30 minutes/game in the post-season.  Even more impressive was Merissa’s phenomenal 3.6 blocked shots per game which ranked 4th in the nation!  Merissa makes her opponents think twice about bringing the ball in the lane.  She can alter a team’s offense and force them to take uncomfortable outside shots.  For her stellar play at Emporia State, the 6’3/191 cm Merissa was named Honorable Mention, NCAA2 All American.

Merissa was a unanimous First Team All MIAA Conference selection, and First Team All Defensive MIAA Conference.  She was also honored with her 3rd straight All MIAA Conference Tournament Team, and Most Outstanding Player at the Central Regional after averaging an impressive 13.3 points/game 9 rebounds/game and 4.3 blocks/game over the three game tournament.  Merissa is at her best when the stage is the biggest.  In 7 NCAA tournament games during her career she averaged 16 points and 9 rebounds.  She was the first player ever to be named MVP of the MIAA Conference Tournament in back to back years.  Merissa is the only Emporia State player in the history of its women’s basketball program to have had 1,500 points, 850 rebounds, and 300 blocked shots in a career.  She was the only player in all of NCAA2 basketball in 2014-15 to have accumulated those numbers.

The numbers speak for themselves.  If you need a post player who can help your team win games, Merissa Quick is who you should sign.  And she shoots 80% from the free throw line!
